I suppose I need to start by explaining the name of my blog, who I am, why I am blogging… I assume that is standard procedure.
Everyone else is doing it! Right? Well, that isn’t exactly why I am, but close. I always thought about blogging, but never thought seriously about it. Then I found two of my friends’ blogs and liked what they were doing with the medium. What a fun way to remember the past, share ideas and hope for the future with people that are interested in you and what you are doing. So, here I am, blogging!
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet." In theory, and idealism, I believe that. In practice, not so much. I have lived nearly thirty (yes, I just said 30, without a cringe or seconds hesitation) with a boy’s name. Always having to explain my name, or address that it isn’t short for anything, has affected me. If my name had been Jennifer, or Ashley, or Elizabeth, or Lindsey, I would have never had to explain my parent’s crazy hippiness. Although I am glad I have always been forced to be ok with being unique, it hasn’t always been comfortable. I acknowledge that my explanation has nothing to do with the name of his blog, so you are going to have to endure more! When I was a kid my dad was watching Austin City Limits (I think) and Bo Diddley was the feature artist. I was three or four or so and was jamming out to the entire show. I loved the music so much. Naturally, I don’t really remember it, but that is what I am told. Ever since that day, my dad has called me Bo. He used to always say, “Hey Bo! What do ya know?” whenever he got home from work. This is the place that I am sharing all that I know, so I thought it fitting. Besides, Honest to Blog was already taken!
Those reading will probably already know me. I am a fairly simple person. I am a wearer of many hats. Hopefully I will get to share some of that with you. Mostly, I am an artist waiting to find my craft. I used to always say that I wanted to be the next Martha Stewart, but as soon as I started crafting, I realized that was never going to happen. Now I am just excited to explore some fun new things and get to write about them as I go!
YIPPY! Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging Lady!
